For organisers
Booking terms
Clear, fair terms so we can both focus on a brilliant event.
- Booking and depositA booking is confirmed when you accept the proposal in writing and pay a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the fee. Your date is held for 7 days after the proposal is sent.
- BalanceThe balance is invoiced after the event and is payable within 14 days of the invoice date.
- Travel and expensesFor events outside Greater London, travel (standard class), accommodation where needed and reasonable subsistence are charged at cost, or agreed in advance as a fixed amount.
- Cancellation by youMore than 60 days before the event: the deposit is kept and nothing more is due. 30 to 60 days before: 75% of the fee is due. Fewer than 30 days before: 100% of the fee is due. Moving to a new date within 6 months counts as a transfer, not a cancellation, if agreed in writing.
- Cancellation by ShabinaIf Shabina has to cancel because of illness or an emergency, she will offer a new date or help find a suitable replacement speaker. If neither suits you, all payments are refunded in full. No further liability applies.

- Technical requirementsPlease provide a lapel or headset microphone, a screen with HDMI, a slide clicker and water on stage. Slides are sent 3 working days before the event.
- Recording and photographyYou may photograph the talk and share clips of up to 2 minutes for promotion, crediting Shabina. A full recording, or any paid or commercial use, needs written permission and may carry an extra fee. Shabina may use photos and clips from the event to promote her own work.
- MaterialsSlides, worksheets and frameworks remain Shabina's intellectual property. Attendees may keep handouts for personal use, but they may not be reproduced or resold.
- LiabilityShabina's total liability under a booking is limited to the fee paid. Neither party is liable for events outside its reasonable control.
